Dr. Angela Berardinelli

Helping data science students navigate a path to graduation
Interim Undergraduate Program Director, School of Data Science

In September, UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science welcomed Dr. Angela Berardinelli as the Interim Undergraduate Program Director for North Carolina’s only bachelor’s degree in data science.

Dr. Berardinelli will play a vital role in the establishment and ongoing success of the undergraduate program, through connecting faculty, coordinating curriculum development and revision and advising students across multiple colleges.

She has teaching interests in databases, data science, data structures, algorithms, discrete math and theory of computation. Her courses typically include student-centered and project-based learning whenever appropriate. Her current research interests are in word graphs for reflection groups and in using data science techniques to inform curriculum and career decisions for educators and students. She has had research in pure mathematics published in the peer-reviewed journals, Ars Mathematica Contemporanea and Transactions of the American Mathematical Society.
