Charlotte 49ers’ Sports Analytics Internship Program
Charlotte 49ers Athletic Department to provide sports analytics for each of the 49ers’ 18 athletic programs.
Each athletic team will be assigned at least one student intern, with projects supported by SDS staff and Charlotte Athletics. The program started in fall 2021 and will continue on a semester-long basis each year.
Qualifications: All interns must be current full-time UNC Charlotte students, but otherwise there are no specific requirements. Applications for internships are expected to be competitive, with selection based on prior analytics knowledge and experience, preferred sports, a demonstrated passion for sports analytics and other factors.
Note: Lack of sports analytics experience will not automatically disqualify applicants. We encourage all students who have an interest in sports and data to apply.
Next Application Cycle: TBD
Questions: For questions about the internship program and application requirements, please contact John Tobias at jtobias@charlotte.edu.
