Misha Ghosh
Misha is a Founding Member of the School of Data Science. He has served on the Industry Advisory Board since January 2015. He holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from San Francisco State University.
He is the founder of IDiyas, a global platform that facilitates collaboration among inventors and mentors young adults in pursuing careers in STEM. The platform’s mission is to build an engaging forum for inventors to vet ideas, trends, and commercialization in a safe, trusted environment. He holds eighty-seven utility patents issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Misha also held the position of Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo, where he led the Financial Health Data & Analytics team. In this role, Misha was responsible for overseeing the data strategy and governance for Financial Health experiences. His duties included defining data integrity and quality requirements, ensuring compliance with data policies and standards, and supporting the smooth operation of data used for Financial Health experiences. Additionally, his team focused on providing data-driven insights and strategy. Misha’s accomplishments include winning Wells Fargo’s Invention of the Year award in 2020 for his contact center operations data innovation. He also received the 2022 Wells Fargo Tesla Award for his exceptional leadership and for setting a high standard for the company. Misha conceived and developed “MasterCard Retail Location Insights,” which was voted by MasterCard employees worldwide as the most innovative, having the greatest market opportunity, and being the most important for the company to bring to market in May 2014. This idea emerged as the best among hundreds of globally submitted ideas in a yearlong competition. Furthermore, he was recognized by Bank of America as the Inventor of the Year in 2008 for his numerous innovations within the bank.
