Himanshu Desai

Himanshu Desai is a seasoned technology executive with a wealth of experience in designing and implementing IT-enabled business capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, drive revenue growth, and maximize profitability. As the VP and Head of Data Engineering and Data Science at The Hartford, he leads the data engineering and data science functions, driving innovation and leveraging data to fuel business growth. He brings a strong background in strategic planning, Agile program/project delivery, and business/IT partnership. Himanshu’s specialties encompass a wide range of areas, including dealing with ambiguity, driving results, creative problem-solving, strategic thinking and planning, building consensus, global IT service delivery and strategy and vendor management. Prior to this, he served as AVP of Application Development, and Director Application Development.

Himanshu holds a Master’s degree in Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies and Financial Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic. He also earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Instrumentation from Bharati Vidyapeeth.
