Biography: Dr. Yan has initiated and directed the Charlotte Biology and Biotechnology (CBB) Exchange Group co-sponsored by North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBC) and UNC Charlotte since 2017. He is also a Program Leader of the Genome Integrity and Cancer Initiative at UNC Charlotte. His laboratory is focused on the molecular mechanisms of genome integrity ad cancer etiology with continuous external support since 2012 from funding agencies including the NIH (NCI, NIEHS, and NIGMS) and NCBC. Dr. Yan’s research has been published in top-tier journals in the field such as PNAS, Nucleic Acids Research, Cancer Research, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, and Cell and Molecular Life Sciences. He has served as a grant reviewer for the NIH study sections and NSF Review Panels, as managing editor or editorial board member for several journals, as well as a manuscript reviewer for ~36 scientific journals.
