Eric Eager

Eric Eager is the Vice President of Football Analytics with the Carolina Panthers. He joined the Panthers in May 2024 after two years at SumerSports and seven years at ProFootballFocus, where he was Vice President of Research & and Development at both. Eric is the co-author of the book “Football Analytics with Python and R”, which was published in 2023. 

Prior to breaking into sports analytics, Eric earned a PhD in mathematics from the University of Nebraska, and was a professor at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed publications in sports analytics, data science, applied mathematics, mathematical biology, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
