Charlotte, N.C. – (May 25, 2021) – Qintess and its chairman, CEO and chief culture officer, Nana Baffour MS, ’97 have established a new partnership with UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science (SDS) through the Founding Members program.

“A company such as Qintess joining the Founding Members program demonstrates SDS’s potential to make an impact worldwide,” said Doug Hague, executive director, SDS. “It’s great to welcome Nana home to support his alma mater and our students.”

A founding member contribution of more than $25,000 will support the educational and research needs of the SDS. The company’s donation will also help remove financial hurdles for students by providing access to necessary resources such as software and emergency funding opportunities.

Baffour, who co-founded Qintess, which specializes in experience management, agile automation, and analytics and decision science, ranks among the global technology sector’s most prominent entrepreneurs. With leadership experience that spans more than 17 years, he has transformed a number of companies’ international management and multinational operations.

“I’ve always had a fond relationship with the University and the city of Charlotte, so becoming an SDS founding member on a personal level and Qintess joining as a corporate member makes perfect sense,” said Baffour. “We’re excited to bring a global perspective to the School of Data Science as well as support efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion across data science, computer science and analytics.”

“In addition to providing internship and mentoring opportunities, we look forward to contributing to UNC Charlotte’s research efforts through our Qintess Analytics and Decision Sciences (QADS) platform,” said Jaider Martins Ramos, managing director, Americas, for Qintess. “The QADS platform utilizes machine learning and natural language processing techniques to uncover hidden insights within data. We’re eager to discover how the University’s researchers may apply QADS to their research needs.”

SDS announced the Founding Members program in 2020, after raising more than $100,000 from long-time supporters and valued industry partners. Baffour and Qintess join the ranks of six individual members and industry contributors that include Bank of America, Lowe’s Inc. and Wells Fargo.
