Biography: Dr. Haopeng Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Data Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
His research focuses on natural language processing, large language models, agentic AI, and their real-world applications in areas such as healthcare, linguistics, and education. Dr. Zhang’s research has been supported by various funding agencies, including NSF and NOAA. His work has been published in top-tier venues, including ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and ICML.
