Biography: Khalil Khouy, Ph.D., is a Data and AI Innovation Leader and an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s School of Data Science. Khalil recently earned his Ph.D. in Software and Information Systems, specializing in Trustworthy AI and model fairness from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also holds a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Data Science and Business Analytics from the same institution.

With over 13 years of experience across the financial services and consulting sectors, Dr. Khouy has a proven track record of solving complex data challenges. Prior to his leadership role at Sia, he served as a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant and Senior Commercial Credit Analyst at Wells Fargo, where he focused on risk mitigation and credit risk analytics.

During his tenure at Sia, Khalil spearheaded several high-stakes consulting workstreams, including data modernization projects for Tier 1 banks. Most recently, he led Agentic AI workstreams for the largest BPO company in North America, optimizing contract validation, procurement, and billing, resulting in the identification of over $300M in savings across 3 years of invoice data. His expertise also extends to sustainable finance, having served as a Product Owner for the end-to-end development of a Climate Data Repository to centralize and enable ESG analytics for a large U.S. bank.
