Biography: Dr. Ivan Flores is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, actively contributing to cutting-edge research in public policy, criminology, and data science. With an extensive educational background, Dr. Flores earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy in August 2023.  Dr. Flores has made significant contributions as a Research Assistant at UNC Charlotte, leading the development of an automated system for downloading executive orders, employing NLP techniques, and fine-tuning RoBERTa for topic classification. Specializing in the study of crime in Latin America, Dr. Flores has left an indelible mark on the academic landscape with publications in esteemed journals, contributing significantly to the discourse on the subject. His prior experience at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas includes coordinating research for public policy studies and serving as a Field Researcher, where he optimized administrative file organization at the Federal Institute of Access to Information and Private Data Protection (INAI).
